Nova Scotia calling skilled immigrants

Nova Scotia reopened its Demand Express Entry Scheme (NSDEE) for immigrants last Saturday on December 9.

NSDEE is designed for the highly skilled individuals who possess a post-secondary degree and can easily integrate into Nova-Scotia labour market.

The entry is open again for Category B of the NSDEE program. This includes at least one year of continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time paid work experience in the last six years in one of the opportunity occupations, which are defined in the Opportunity occupation list of this Canadian province.

Canadian provinces pro active for skilled immigration

Provinces in Canada are dedicated to attracting skilled immigrants from across the globe. Four Atlantic province; Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Labrador are working vigorously toward the goal to bring home a skilled class of foreign workers.

The main reason behind this is believed to be the aging workforce and sagging economy.

These provinces have launched the Atlantic Pilot Program to attract up to 2,000 primary immigrant applicants and their families by the end of this year. Under which applicants need a job offer and meet the requirements for work experience and English proficiency.

By 2020, the annual influx of immigrants with this entry is targeted to rise to 4,000 in the Atlantic region.

New Changes in Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

The Canadian province of Manitoba has announced a series of changes in its Provincial Nominee Program. New pathways have been introduced for investors and international students.

Manitoba restructured its Provincial Nominee program by including an in-demand occupation list into its immigration system. This list is to be used to prioritize Expressions of Interest (EOI) for inviting applications from the new Skilled Worker Overseas stream.

The new changes in Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) introduce all new ways for the new-comers to become a permanent resident of the province. This includes changes to its three in-practice immigration streams – MPNP-B business immigration stream, Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream and Skilled Worker Overseas Steam. Also, a new International Education Stream has come into existence with these reforms.

New Opportunity Stream by Alberta Immigration

Alberta province of Canada introduced a new Opportunity Stream for immigrants. This entry is a part of Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

A new immigration scheme named Opportunity stream is launched by Alberta Province of Canada. The applications under this scheme are to be accepted from January 2, 2018, under Alberta Immigration Nominee Program (AINP).

This new scheme will replace two presently existing entries: Employer-Driven Stream and Strategic Recruitment Stream. However, applications under these two streams will continue to be accepted until the new scheme comes into effect. The processing of already submitted applications will continue after induction of new Opportunity Stream, but, no new applications will be accepted under Employer-Driven and Strategic Recruitment Stream thereafter.

Successful candidates in Opportunity Stream will be provided a provincial nomination, which can bring them permanent residency of Canada in future applications.

Saskatchewan to Intake 1000 New Immigrants Under Express Entry

Opening the doors for skilled immigrants Saskatchewan on Oct 26, 2017, has invited immigration seekers to apply under The International Skilled Worker Express Entry, which is a sub category of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

The entry is open for 1000 new applications for Provincial Nomination. No need to necessarily having a job offer in Canada to apply for this entry.

The applications to be accepted purely on first come first serve basis.

A successful application for a provincial nomination express entry is awarded an additional 600 CRS points and an Invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian PR issued during a subsequent draw from the pool.

Ontario opened Masters and PhD graduate Scheme for immigrants

Ontario, the Canadian Province has opened Masters graduate stream and PhD graduate stream, two popular immigration streams for international post graduates to immigrate to Canada. Both of these streams are connected with the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), one of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).

These two streams previously opened last February and May, reaching their intake limits within a few days on both occasions. Through the OINP, the government of Ontario may nominate individuals who wish to settle in the province.

Ontario is the most popular destination province for international students, particularly Masters and PhD students, who are attracted by the quality of education and research opportunities offered across the province.

Canadian Immigration Level to go up in future

Canadian Immigration levels to go up in coming future after the federal and provincial governments reached a joint consensus. Political leader dealing with immigration issues have given their ascent that a lift in immigration level and chasing multi-year targets can fulfill labour market need in the country.

The decision was taken in a meeting held in Toronto, by the Forum of Ministers responsible for Immigration (FMRI), which includes members from the federal, provincial, and territorial governments of Canada.

The current target of Canada’s annual immigration levels plan for the year 2017 is 300,000 new permanent residents for the year. Out of which, 57% is for economic immigrants under Express entry and PNP entries. The plan also allows for sponsorship to dependents and law partners.

Immigrate to British Columbia with Immigration Tech Pilot Entry

Doors to British Columbia are wide open for immigrants with Immigration Tech Pilot entry launched by the province. Tech entry is a part of British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program, which is launched to attract more number of technology graduates and workers.

Applicants with a job offer in one of the 32 eligible occupations to be invited for a provisional nomination initially, which can further be used to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Invitations will be issued on a weekly basis to registrants, who qualify to apply for the tech pilot program. BC PNP will conduct a tech draw to invite the highest-scoring technology sector registrants to apply. Invited candidates are given 30 days from the date of invitation to submit a complete online application. The government application fee is $700 for this entry.
